In another amusing example of the funny way my life goes, I was just telling The Roomie about my dad and uncles and their musical inclinations on the way home from work yesterday, and who sends me an email today pointing me to a webpage about his old band, The Rites? Uncle Pete Kerezman, that’s who!
You know, maybe it’s a reflection on my poor memory retention (especially from childhood) or my lack of attention to detail, but I don’t remember Uncle Pete wearing an eyepatch. And yet, apparently, he did just that during the halcyon days of his music career.
I wonder how many people suggested he dress as a pirate for Halloween…

Be damned… I’ve actually heard Hour Girl before! The joys of being an oldies DJ that also had the Sunday morning canned program shift.
I wonder if I still have that piece of vinyl back at the Old Home Pond…
The world is a strange and amusing place. If you do stumble across that disc o’ vinyl, please let me know!
I went through about half the “canned program” vinyls, looking at the track lists… no dice, but I’ll look through the other half next time I visit the Old Home Pond.
This has become an obsession of sorts… “where the heck did I hear that song???”
The eyepatch was necessary at that time due to an ulceration of my cornea, the result of a bad car wreck. I think there may have been a couple Halloweens where all I wore was the patch. Egad.
An’ anuddah thang…
I particularly enjoy the subtle beauty of this marvelous performance, especially at my advanced age. I think you will agree that the haunting refrain of the guitar solo is absolutely delightful.

This is all actually quite fascinating… The music’s good, too.
