Happy Birthday, sweetie.

Has it been ten years already? Apparently it has. What started out as the “baby girl whose time had come” has grown into a precocious, pretty, caring girl who today celebrates one full decade among us.

Of course, now we’re coming up on the really fun part of her childhood.

(And by “fun” I mean, of course, “intensely scary and challenging.” Whee!)

Happy Birthday, Erica. You are the sunshine in all our lives.

She’s so cute! Happy birthday! (You make cool kids, by the way,)

I know of one dad who plans to be cleaning a shotgun whenever his daughter’s dates come by to pick her up. Just a suggestion.

I know of one dad who plans to be sharpening one of his swords whenever his daughter’s dates come by to pick her up. (Gotta love them well-armed SCAdians…)

Hmmmm…s’pose you could send one of those well-armed SCAdians my way? Kelsey’s almost as old as Erica. Then again, maybe I should just become as bitchy as my own mother – that’s worked well at keeping men (more or less) away for 29 years!

Or maybe your kid will just learn to lie and pretend they don’t have boyfriends. That’s what I did, and my parents still think I’m pure and innocent. >:)
