Kind of a light recap because really, I only engaged in two kinds of activity this past week: Acquired resources for the nuclear power plant, and built train lines to haul some of those resources into place.

Absolutely riveting stuff, no?
This save’s nuclear power plant setup bears a strong resemblance to my last save’s nuclear power plant setup but differs in a couple of key respects:
- I’m using an alternate recipe (Infused Uranium Cell) to save on uranium ore costs, getting down from 400/min to merely 250/min. Not that I’d be depleting the map’s complete supply capacity either way, but I like giving myself options for later. There’s a non-zero chance I’ll need an additional power plant if endgame power requirements are as steep as I’ve seen suggested.
- Instead of delivering the required water by train into the desert I’m building the entire facility directly on the ocean. I may be trading one mistake for a different mistake but that’s a safe gamble to my mind right now.

I have the Uranium, Caterium (the raw ore, I’ll process it “on site” since there’ll be abundant water available), and Silica coming in by drone, with Iron Plates, Steel Beams, Heat Sinks, Electromagnetic Control Rods, Nitrogen (bottled) and Sulfur all coming in by train (probably). I still need to throw together a quick source of a modest amount of Concrete but that won’t take long and can be built almost anywhere.
Hopefully I can take the experience gained from the previous one of these to build myself a superior, stable, good-looking nuclear power plant this time around. We’ll find out over the next few weeks…
