Past, Present, Future – Round Twenty-eight

PAST: Most of us moved around a bit as children, but most people I’ve talked to about it remember one particular place as being “home.” What was home to you, growing up?

PRESENT: What is it about your present home that drew you to it, and what makes it a great place to live?

FUTURE: You’ve won the lottery! Hooray! Now, get out there and build your dream house. And, of course, tell us all about it.

All settled in nice and comfy? Then relax, leave a comment with your answers or a link thereto, and if you link back to the PPF use the permalink provided below. Thanks once again!

Mine was a haunted “stick”-style victorian house, built in 1902. It’s on the West side of Queen Ann Hill in Seattle, WA, if you ever want to go and see it… I haven’t been back in quite a while. We moved when I was 10, and the new owners decided to change EVERYTHING that my father had worked so hard to restore. sigh…

PRESENT: What is it about your present home that drew you to it, and what makes it a great place to live?

It’s cheap, but it’s ugly… Mostly, it’s cheap. And currently, the property mgmt people are pretty nice, all in all. I’ve added shelving, and some lighting (wall sconces), but as it’s an apartment, you can’t do much else to it, really.

FUTURE: You’ve won the lottery! Hooray! Now, get out there and build your dream house. And, of course, tell us all about it.

Oooo! I’ve always wanted a house that had a walk-in shower like Kate’s parents… They had 3 shower heads, and a skylight to light it up during the day, sunken ceiling lights to illuminate at night. It was big enough to fit 4 people (we know, we did it) comfortably in there, and also 3 large potted plants and a bench. I would like a house that could support that… Yum!!!
