We’re now solidly in the midst of what is arguably the worst time of year in the fair City of Roses.
Yes, it’s “the hot season,” when daytime temperatures sit patiently between 80-F and 95-F, when the air doesn’t move enough to mean anything, and when the room I now inhabit receives all kinds of direct sunlight since it faces almost due south.
Bleah. I hate hot weather. A large part of the reason I love this town so much is that we really only get a few short months of heat before returning to the nice gray drizzly weather I’m so much more comfortable with.
You can’t do anything in this heat. You don’t want to read, you don’t want to do chores, you don’t want to cuddle up with somebody, you just want to find some ice cream and wait for midnight when the air outside has cooled down some.
Bleah, I say.

I hate hot weather and love overcast, rainy days too! Saying this out load in FL gets you labeled a weirdo. Regretably, Florida is not known for this sort of weather.
I hear ya, and second the ‘bleah’. I *hate* hot weather. Granted, it was much worse when I was growing up in the midwest, when it was this hot *and* humid…. but having been away from there for long enough, yeah, this is pretty bad. I can’t wait until October, when it turns beautiful again, and I have my clouds and rain to look forward to.
I feel like the witch from The Wizard of Oz, “I’m melting…I’m melting….” ;D
Feeling your pain, man. I loathe heat, and i can only sleep when its cold in my room. And about a bazillion fans rotating on me just pushes all the hot air around. Poo.
Not only do I hate the heat, but I hate how the day lasts forever. I’m impatiently waiting the days when the sun rises at 8am and sets at 4pm.
Yeah, what’s up with THAT? 9:00 and there’s still heat coming down out of the sky. Feh.
I hate it too. Miserable, just miserable.
Oh I hear you, totally. The Oregon heat is awful. It’s currently 1:24 AM and it’s STILL warm outside. Ugh.
This would be why I finally splurged and got myself an air conditioner for the bedroom. At the very least, I have 1 room in my house to feel comfortable in… And it was only $100 – Oh So cheap for comfort!
Now you all know why I got the hell out of Vegas. Try weather like this for 7 months straight, with the ‘hot season’ averaging 100+ temps – and a day / night difference of maybe 20 degrees. (This means a daytime high of 110 gets a nighttime low of 90)
Bitch all ya want, I am sooooo glad to be home.
