Past, Present, Future – Round Thirty

PAST: Even the poorest of us had a few toys, growing up. Which was your favorite?

PRESENT: Constructive playtime is still a valuable thing for us adult-like personages. What do you play with when you need to cheer up?

FUTURE: Setting aside, as we tend often to do here, the established laws of physics, probability, supply-and-demand and common sense… if you could create a fantastical toy, what would it be like? (This can be for children and/or adults, in case you’re wondering.)

Heh heh… My favorite one when I was really little was the original Tonka dumptrucks and tractors – you know the ones, the metal ones you could clock your brother upside the head with and help him get stitches in the hospital later? Those ones. I liked to bury my barbie dolls in the sandbox with them.

I normally don’t play much, but lately I’ve been given to playing D & D with friends. I also have been known to play DungeonKeeper and giggle maniacally while slapping imps, and play Diablo, giggling maniacally while killing small blue meanies with my triple shot bow. It’s a stress reliever, really.

Hmmm… I suppose it would have to be something that would grow with a person, from a small child to adult-hood, matching their level and interests, and making it a bit more complicated as they grew up, to keep the challange there.
