  • Distant fading lights…

As the sun finally drops over the horizon… okay, over the building next door… the light in my room is beginning to fade. Eventually I’ll have to (gasp!) turn on artificial lighting again in order for my webcam to be of any use. This, of course, will result in oddly-yellow images.

Such is the price of staying up all day and all night. I’ll manage. I’m tough enough. You bet your bottom dollar.

(I’m taking an evening break from Really Major Postings, hence all of these dribbles and drabs. Gimme another hour and I’ll start working my serious mojo again. I have at least two more album reviews+promos in me, as well as at least one more creative writing exercise. Stay tuned!)

  • Not exactly lean cuisine. But, tasty.

    The tally so far:

    • Two pieces of Stouffer’s french bread pizza.
    • Eight or nine small glasses of cold herbal tea (again: Thank you so much, beloved, for the tea!)
    • Five pieces of rye krisp, buttered
    • Two tall glasses of orange juice (all gone now, waaah)
    • Two toaster waffles

Health food it ain’t, but it makes me happy… and a happy blogger is a prolific blogger. Speaking of happiness, feel free to sponsor me if you haven’t already. It makes me happy, and goes toward setting aside land for wildlife habitat preservation. You can’t really go wrong there, now can you? Thanks!

(A big thanks to Liz and Lisa, who put me over the $125 mark. Woo hoo!)

  • Speaking of felines…

So picture this bit of amusement: My room, upstairs, closed off from the rest of the (significantly cooler) house. Two cats, to whom I am allergic. Me, opening my door when I know they’re downstairs so I can try to pull in some cooler air. The cats, sensing an open door and distracted human, stealthily treading into forbidden territory. Me, shooing out cats and closing the door again.

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

But hey, I’ve lowered the temperature in this sauna of mine by a few degress. That’s got to count for something, baby.

  • Blogathon 2005: The Halfway Point

The easy part is over. The first twelve hours, you get by mostly on enthusiasm and a not-yet-depleted basket of ideas.

Now comes evening, nightfall, oh-dark-hundred, and the wee hours. Now comes flagging energy and faltering spirit. Now comes random calisthenics to force the body awake again. Now comes desperate casting about for inspiration.

Don’t worry, folks. I’ve done this before. I’ll do it again. (Nevermind how much that sounds like what I said the second and third times I did NaNoWriMo. Ahem.)

But hey! Look who got on the news page at Blogathon! Way to go!

  • I keep forgetting to feed her…

One way to pass a bit of the time during the Blogathon is to feed, play with, and earn money for your Neopet.

This public service messages brought to you by SnarkyWench the (still rather hungry) Zafara.

Stay tuned next half-hour for another silly tidbit of random geekery!

  • Incentives ‘R’ Good

Over at Neurotic Fishbowl, not only can you hear music (an mp3 for every Blogathon post!) (She also includes the Amazon link if you decide you like the song enough to buy the album. Slick!) but you can put your name in a virtual hat for a chance to get a mix CD collection, just by sponsoring her for $5 or more. That’s pretty darned nifty.

Thanks to Lisa for the heads-up.

Dang. I should’ve come up with a sponsorship incentive idea, huh? I can’t even fall back on pictures of baby bunnies this time…
