  • Sam Doesn’t Talk Very Well

I’ve had some fun today making the text-to-speech software generate artist and album “voice overs” for the promos I’ve done so far, but these last two are definitely the most challenging and amusing yet. I had to come up with creative misspellings that the software would interpret in something resembling the way I wanted. In one case it took me most of five minutes.

I don’t want to give away the identities of the artists yet, but believe me, when you see them you’ll understand why I had so much fun with their VOs…

  • Goal Reached!

Blogathon made their 2005 goal of $50,000 in sponsorship donations! I think that’s worth an entry all by itself, don’t you?

(The fact that I spent half an hour playing that castle game has nothing to do with the brevity of this entry. Honest!)

  • Disturbing Game… But Fun

This? Is just sick and wrong. Thank you, fellow ‘thonner ChemMonkey, for sharing it with us…

(Hint: You want to throw them straight up, as “hard” as you can. It basically comes down to clicking on them as your mouse is moving upward, then “letting go” at the top of the movement. It takes some practice…)

  • And as a final fallback plan…

During the oh-dark-thirty, wee-hours stretch of the last Blogathon, what kept me going was Serial Experiments Lain. Not because it was great anime, mind you, but because it was bizarre, obscure and oft-times annoying. So if push comes to shove, I’m certain I have some weird, goofy, possibly annoying anime laying around that’ll keep me going until 6am.

I mean, why mess with a proven formula, right?

  • Speaking of gaming…

In case you were worried that I was going to completely run out of big ideas, have no fear. I’ve just been reminded of a very good other category of entry for this here Blogathon, and it plays directly into something I enjoy doing a lot: Playing City of Heroes.

    Just you wait, true believers.

And by “wait” I mean “wait another hour, please.” Thanks. I need one more filler post before I go back onto full duty…

  • Tomorrow will be fun. Indeed.

One of our gaming buddies came over a bit ago to borrow the hex-map sheet, and he asked, “So will we see you tomorrow?” Sunday is, after all, our traditional gaming night. We play card games, board games, RPGs and various other such pasttimes.

I replied, “I’ll probably be just waking up. Sure thing, I’ll be here.”
