Satisfactory: FICSMAS Takes Its Toll

Well, this is moderately embarrassing.

Insert “record scratch” meme, here.

There I was, minding my own business, preparing a new site for a couple of electronics products (Remote Control Units and High Speed Connectors) when I saw something shiny.

We all like shiny things, right?

One thing I wasn’t able to show off in the previous FICSMAS post was the sparkly pillar of light over the gift package drops. By the time I was preparing that entry it was too late. By placing more than 10 gift trees I’d triggered the cutoff for presents-from-above delivery. Or so I thought! So what was this?

Seriously, though, I love those sparkly light pillars. One of my favorite improvements in this year’s version of the event, by far.

A trap, that’s what. And it’s not like they don’t give you a clear hint.

You’d have done the same. Admit it.

Sometimes when you see a big shiny “do not press this” button, you press it anyway, right? Right. And that’s why I decided that it’s finally time to put up some signage at the Hub area:

Satisfactory video game screenshot: Hub building, with the MAM (research station) alongside. In front is a set of signs, reading: "Number of Fatal Incidents: 1. Number of Sessions Since Last Fatal Incident: 0. Number of Unfinished Project Sites: 2. Number of Incomplete Buildings: ??" At the bottom is a sign which simply reads, "Merry FICSMAS."
Those signs in the third and fourth positions are subject to change. I just wanted to use the big billboard at the bottom, and that led to this overall arrangement.

My first character “death” in this inaugural 1.0 Satisfactory game save wasn’t from hostile fauna, nor did it result from scaling great heights without adequate safety gear. No, it was 100% the metaphorical cat-killer: Curiosity.
