The aforementioned pics from the recent trip out to the Gorge are now posted in the Gallery.

    That will be all.

(Yes, I’ll get on those captions. Later.)

  • Moment Of Truth

Found at Jack Bog’s… this delightful little gem about a hopeful couple’s pregnancy test.

(Be warned, video clip contains what some would refer to as “mild language.” Whatever that means.)

  • Pay To Watch Me Blog

I thought about the suggestions I received, including children’s charities and medical organizations as well as the local rabbit shelter (as suggested by a certain someone). Then I had a bit of a brainstorm: What if I tied into the campaign that my workplace was already involved in?

Entercom has a donation-matching deal with Earth Share, so I figured I’d at least look into going that route so I could (possibly) increase the chances of getting some of my coworkers in on the action. The problem is, Earth Share of Oregon doesn’t have a web-based donation transaction system. You have to print out a form, fill it out, and fax it to them. Er, no, sorry, that won’t work well enough for my purposes.

While perusing the list of Earth Share’s affiliated organizations, however, I came across The Nature Conservancy’s Oregon chapter. Hey! Here’s something I can get behind. Preserving habitats for future generations, thus improving the quality of life for people and wildlife alike, is highly appealing to me.

So, for those of you who wish to pony up sponsorship funds, I can now post my Blogathon campaign link. (Oooh, there’s a button off to the right, look!) There are only a couple of weeks remaining before the event, so don’t wait! And if you don’t want to contribute, that’s okay, but I do hope you’ll cheer me on during the event itself.

Of course, now I have to start amassing material and ideas enough to get me through 48 journal entries in a single day…

  • Basil Thermometer?

I couldn’t resist linking this post from Hurricane about a conversation at his local grocery store…

  • Blogathon 2005!

A couple of years ago, I stayed up for 24 straight hours, posting entries every half hour, for the sake of charity, as part of an event called Blogathon. The ‘thon took a year off in 2004, but it’s back now and I’m signed up to participate.

The question is, what charity should I devote my energy to? There’s a list of suggested causes, but before going ahead and defaulting to my usual (the WWF, in case you’re wondering) I figured I’d float the query past you folks, since you’re likely to be my sponsors and cheerleaders.

The ‘thon takes place on Saturday, the 6th of August, bright and early. Bring it on, baby.

  • Aw… Isn’t she the cutest?

So I was cleaning my desk and managed to unearth the scanner I’ve had tucked away for far too many months. On a whim I plugged it into my Linux box and… voila! Looking around for a test image to scan, I found this wallet-sized picture…

Now isn’t that just the most adorable kid you’ve ever seen?

(She’s still every bit as naturally photogenic now, most of twelve years later, mind you. The trick now, as it was then, is getting her to stay still long enough to snap her picture…)
