I still need to get my hands on a good light source for indoors (so if there any shutterbugs in the Rose City who have good tips on inexpensive lighting, let me know) but I wanted to show you what that earlier picture of my recently-cleaned ducks was supposed to look sort of like.
From left to right in that photograph is the starting lineup for that silly little project I’ve been prepping for: Rei, Shimako, Roger, Sachiko, Li, Poe, Neil, Rusty and Score.
The next bit of preparation will involve layout, image editing software & templates, and… fonts selections. Stay tuned, duck fans…

Nine ducks. “Starting Lineup”. Hmmmm… duckie baseball!
A couple cheapo clamp-on incandescent reflector fixtures from your fave discount department store might just do the trick, provided that you also acquire an 80B color compensation filter of a size suitable to fit your lens, possibly 49mm for Pentax but the memory is dim.
Alternatively, you could get an extension cord to use the flash off-camera. Remember to adjust the f-stop for the distance from the *flash* to the subject, not the camera. Either way, a series of test-exposures and careful recording of your data thereof might be a good idea. You could even reacquaint yourself with a writin’ stick and a piece of parchment to accomplish this task.
