  • Could we have picked a worse product name?

Added to the file labeled, “Product Names We Never Wanted To See,” we find the following image. I walked past this discarded box on the way to work this morning, glanced down, read the text, stopped, stared at the box for a full thirty seconds, walked away, realized that I could not let such a photo-op go by, walked back, snapped a picture with my phone, then hurried to the bus stop.

(Sadly, this is another example of the fact that the Treo 600 takes lousy pictures. I should’ve taken the extra minute or two and just broken out the Canon. Argh.)

    Used fireworks box…

  • Sign of a quiet weekend.

You know it’s been a quiet weekend when your most nostable accomplishment is figuring out how to make KDE do timed random wallpaper changes.

Oh, okay, I also got Mute Aunt, my newest Defender in City of Heroes, up to level 12, but I had help doing that.

No TV yet. I need another paycheck first. Le sigh.

  • Happy 33 and a third?

    Let’s see…

    • Out the door late
    • Missed bus
    • Therefore, not enough time to buy breakfast, nor to grab lunch before leaving home
    • Major back pain that migrated up to neck and skull
    • Several annoying situations at work
    • Leaving work faint with hunger
    • My Neuros media player refusing to charge its battery properly
    • …and last but certainly not least, TV going “pop” in moderately spectacular (and permanent) fashion

Nevermind that I’ve spent months planning to have a turntable by now so I could do something based around the notion of being 33-1/3 years old today (get it? LP records spin at 33-1/3 RPM? ain’t I clever?), only to not have enough money until now and no card with which to buy said turntable. Oh, no.

Wait, one good thing happened today: I got my new debit card. YAY! So I guess the day hasn’t been a total loss… just a near-total loss.

  • There’s something fishy about this.

It’s not my fault. She made me do it. (And by “made me do it” I mean “put it on her site and took no further action to twist my arm,” naturally.)

  • The browser ate my homework.

I had an entry almost ready to go, and then I had to try to Google for something to clarify a point… and my browser crashed.

So, you get this instead. Here, I’ll even throw in a random funny link.

Remember, kids: save those draft entries when your entry is getting a bit lengthy! Don’t be like that “grey duck” guy! Man, what a loser…

  • CoH Funny

Found here, the following (which I’ve formatted for maximum humor output):

Q: Why is soloing archvillians really a problem?

A: Because it’s too expensive to buy a tour bus for each one. Anyway, “Tyrant and the Praetorians” just looks good on the album cover.

Later on in that thread there’s a comment about the optimal slotting of one’s sense of humor that almost made me spit-take. But maybe that’s just me…
