Day: April 1, 2002

  • April Fool!

I‘ve never been one for pranks, so I won’t bother trying to do one here. My brain just doesn’t operate that way, really. I’m more into verbal by-play than deliberate teasing.

In other news, today my good friend Heather is down in Cali at a job interview. If it goes well, she’ll be gainfully employed when she moves down there to be with her Darrell. Think good thoughts in her direction, please.

How was Easter? I’m glad you asked. I spent Saturday night hiding eggs both real and plastic. It was a blast, really. There were two eggs that escaped discovery for almost half the day. Alex and Erica had a great time, even if Alex wasn’t initally too thrilled at getting a plush rooster. (We bought Erica the bunny, we had to get Alex something, didn’t we?) On the balance side, last night the television was locked onto the broadcast of The Ten Commandments. Again. I hid in the bedroom with some McCaffrey reading. Pegasus In Flight and Pegasus In Space, if you’re wondering.

  • Gary Larson Moment

I picked up one of the “Far Side Last Impressions” daily calendars for Christmas, and have been enjoying pulling off each day’s entry.

The Easter Sunday entry is one that must be quoted here:

That evening, with her blinds pulled, Mary had three helpings of corn, two baked potatoes, extra bread, and a little lamb.
