Month: July 2003

  • A change is as good as a rest.

Attention, attention: We have changed from root beer to orange juice as the beverage of choice.

I love orange juice. Actually I love most citrus juices, but orange juice is the best. Minute Maid makes a darned tasty juice, while Tropicana’s tastes a bit too “raw” for me.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to heat up a corn dog, pour another glass of OJ and watch more Lain.

  • Blogathon Milepost – Two-thirds

We’re now past all of the easy entries, all of the entries I could just knock off without much in the way of effort. From here on out, I have to come up with things, I have to stay awake enough to write them coherently, and I must at least attempt to keep the entries interesting enough not to be a complete waste of electrons.

Well, two out of three will do nicely, wouldn’t you agree?

I’m down to three episodes of Serial Experiments Lain. Huzzah. Dawn wants me to churn through Digicharat when I’m able. Who knows, maybe I’ll be too burned out on anime by then. Then again, what else will I do with my remaining eight hours?

Two thirds of the way through my twenty-four hours. Excellent. Now for the fun part.

  • Wendi, back and gone again.

Wendi arrived from her DJ gig, flush with tip money. Woo hoo! I unloaded her van, and now she’s off to the store to pick up things we’ll need for tomorrow and what-not. Then she’s going to hit the hay since she has another very busy day ahead.

Lucky her. Sorta. At least I’ll have the luxury of sleeping parts of my day away tomorrow.

  • Dinnertime

I’m going to go put some food in the oven now. I just wanted to wait until I could get this entry out of the way.

By the way, Age of Mythology is a great time-waster. Absolutely fantastic, I say. Mind you, it doesn’t give me much to write about… so I guess that’s a bad thing. Maybe I should go back to watching Lain instead.

    After dinner, though.

  • We are a “go” for Blogathon. Go, go, go!

Greetings from not-yet-sunny Portland, Oregon where it’s 58-F outside with a good chance of hitting something in the mid-80s by some time in the afternoon. Or late morning, for that matter. I’ve mentioned before how I feel about summer, but that’s not really pertinent here and now.

This entry commences my Blogathon participation for 2003, my first ever. For the next 24 hours I will post at least one entry during every half-hour timeslot. Yes, I really will. If I managed to wake up this morning to start, I can stay up long enough to finish.

Let the fun and games commence. Welcome to the Blogathon.

(Cute, cuddly bunny pictures to follow in the next half-hour’s posting. Be patient, folks.)

  • A bit o’ chat to start the day.

So what do I do, instead of finding breakfast or showering or loading bunny pictures? I get into the Blogathon IRC chat and hang out.

There’ll be plenty of time for that other stuff, right?

Okay, okay. I’m firing up the other computer now so I can hook up the camera. Sorry. There’ll be bunny pics next time, and more will be taken during the day. It’s amazing how quickly half an hour can pass you by, isn’t it?
